So the livetile or what ever you call it didn’t load correct background image resolution and errored, taking the whole application with it.

I only throw in this hdd and load windows 8 when I need something to laugh at. Secure boot that removes your access to bios is diverted by pulling hdd at boot and and hot swapping it once cdrom spins up. Once a real operating system is loaded along with grub, Windows does not lock you out of bios.
