Today the HTC One (M8) released on T-Mobile so I went and snagged myself one.  I read up before hand on what tools to use to break this thing open for its full potential, warranty voided 😀 Within an hour of owning it got it unlocked, TWRP, rooted, and s-off.  Loading the best ROM out for HTC devices currently, ViperOneM8

Goal today is do this. Pry, heat, + patience, and repeat. – – edit – – Success!!

I really like the HTC One S I have especially with the ROM I have ran on it for years. But lack of some features and new features in the newest flagship phones make me want to replace my 2 year old phone. Really only thing that totally bites is can not add memory card.  16gb is weak.  This new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is not like all the other phones that hardly fit in your pocket, or weak specs on the smaller screen models.  This thing can add memory card up to 64gb and is waterproof and dustproof, has a 20.7MP camera, and same size screen as what i have now with better resolution. Now that see that can void the warranty with root just hoping that can find it for the right price.

So they changed the way the internal memory is accessed from a usb mass storage, where when mounted the phone couple not read the internal memory to MTP where the OS hosts access to the files in the MTP session.  Ubuntu will have the the gvfs on next build, 13.04 but until then can find the repos to add here. This allows you to access files on your phone while your phone can still access the storage for running applications.
