So they changed the way the internal memory is accessed from a usb mass storage, where when mounted the phone couple not read the internal memory to MTP where the OS hosts access to the files in the MTP session.  Ubuntu will have the the gvfs on next build, 13.04 but until then can find the repos to add here.

This allows you to access files on your phone while your phone can still access the storage for running applications.
